I started as an IT student, and the first three quarters were challenging but eye-opening. During finals, I realized how much I had to learn, which motivated me to practice daily, strengthen my fundamentals, and steadily grow my programming skills.

After transferring to Mapúa MCM as a CS student, I got a Mac, whose Unix-like environment made development intuitive. I explored multiple tech stacks while reinforcing my fundamentals, knowing that strong core principles are key when challenges arise.

I began building web apps with JavaScript stacks to grasp frontend-backend communication, then deepened my skills in HTML, CSS, and React. After using these tools, I learned that each one exists to solve a specific need, and I later moved on to Next.js and mastering TypeScript for safer, scalable code.

By late September, I focused on building enterprise systems with Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL. I adopted Docker for microservices, learned gRPC, Kafka, and Grafana, and explored AWS using LocalStack to safely practice cloud workflows, while continuously refining my skills.

I learned to combine AI tools with solid engineering principles from inspiring peers, which helped our team win the championship at the AI Frontiers Hackathon held by ICT Davao, Inc. in Davao City, affirming the value of continuous learning.
